Janique Johnson-Lafleur


 

 

 

Biography

Janique Johnson-Lafleur, M.Sc., completed her undergraduate training in cultural anthropology at Université Laval, and her Masters degree in anthropology at Université de Montréal. Her Masters thesis focused on the ethical and political aspects of professional interventions in mental health with people having been subjected to organized violence. She is currently working as a research assistant on different projects at the Jewish General Hospital, the McGill University Family Medicine department, and the CSSS (community based health and social services institution) de la Montagne. Her research interests include: the value of clinical information, critical anthropology of health, medical anthropology, social and transcultural psychiatry, collaborative care in youth mental health, gender studies, and communication. Her interests also include participatory and mixed methods approaches to research.
