Biography

Pierre Pluye is MD, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Family Medicine (McGill University), and Associate Member of the Department of Social Studies of Medicine (McGill), the School of Information Studies (McGill), the Division of Experimental Medicine (McGill), and the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Community Studies (SMBD Jewish General Hospital). He is McGill co-representative at the Canadian Cochrane Network and the Réseau Cochrane francophone. Pierre has worked as a General Practitioner in France (MD), and he is a specialist in Public Health and Social Medicine (PhD in Public Health & Health Promotion, Université de Montréal). He obtained New Investigator Award from the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) and the Fond de la recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ). He has expertise in mixed methods studies and complex literature reviews (concomitant reviews of quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods studies). His current CIHR-funded studies examine the application of information derived from electronic knowledge resources in and outside clinical settings.
